Life size Giraffe Sculpture - 1999

This was one of the first pieces I made. It was made in three sections because I still wasn’t sure how I would ever move something like this after it was done. Today, small crane services have become a routine part of the process. This giraffe is the tallest piece I’ve made so far. It’s done in steel and now lives in Scottsdale AZ. Doing this one after my “real job” this giraffe was a three month project, working mostly off of ladders in the middle of the night. This piece sold within three months of its completion and provided me with the cash to begin my career. I quit my job four months later and began sculpting full time.
